Lit vs non-lit
- Front-lit
- Floodlights on the face. Standard for roadside boards, strong after dark, lowest running cost.
- Back-lit
- Light behind a translucent flex. Even glow, premium look, best on high-street and mall approaches.
- Halogen
- Older lamp housings still in service on some structures. Warmer light, higher power draw.
- Non-lit
- Daylight hours only. Priced lower and worth it on routes that are busiest before sunset.
